Hello, everyone! I'm Park, Ji Hae.
I majored in Education and English language and literature.
I am teaching junior high and high school students English grammar and reading comprehension in Korean at hagwon. As an instructor and learner, I think school curriculum of English as a major subject in secondary school is not desirable since it has an emphasis on grammar and reading comprehension too much. And in the case of teaching grammar, it just makes students memorize too trivial grammartical factors. It should be changed into a balanced curriculum. That is, listening, and speaking and writing should be taught in school.
I've used my mp3 player for English learning and electronical English dictionary on my cell phone. And I don't frequently use mobile devices for teaching because my class is focused only on English grammar and reading comprehension in Korean in traditional way. If I use some mobile devices in my class, my boss probably think I just play with my students. :-)
I'd like to learn what is curriculum in TESOL, and how I should design it.
